Some very generous donors have offered to match donations to our low-cost spay/neuter clinics to help pay for the cost of spaying/neuter pit bulls. So for every dollar you donate, these lovely people will match it, up to $1,600. That means we have the potential to raise $3,200!
The Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter partners with People For Animals to offer low-cost spay/neuter clinics; our group helps pay for the cost of surgery for pit bull-type dogs because they make up most of the shelter dog population.
From Jan. 1 to Sept. 30, 2016, Friends of BCAS clinics have spayed/neutered:
- 235 pet cats
- 248 feral cats
- 115 non-pit-type dogs
- 72 pit bull-type dogs
for a total of 670 animals fixed.
We've subsidized $26,205.93 of the cost of these surgeries.
